Local volunteers for Marie Curie will be busy over the next few weeks in a bid to make a huge “dafference” to patients with a terminal illness.

Members of the Marple, Bredbury and Romiley Fundraising Group for the charity will be busy delivering  boxes of daffodils to local shops and business in order to raise funds to provide much needed nursing care and support for patients in their own homes.

They are “daffinitely” hoping that people will dig deep to purchase a daffodil  to show their support for the vital work of the charity.

“We are grateful to all the local shops and business who host our boxes of daffodils. Without their generosity and support we would not be able to raise the much needed funds to support terminally ill patients at home. It is also  heartening to see so many people in the local community wearing our small daffodil badges to show their support for our cause,” remarked Alan Chin, Chair of the local group.

The campaign will run during the month of March and will also be supported by additional collections at Marple Garden Centre, at Otterspool, and Morrisons Supermarket, in Bredbury.
