Amazing Gemma raises over £7500 for charity

Gemma Ellis, a service user at Blythe House Hospice has raised an amazing £7900 for a number of charities that have supported her since she was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year.

Local Marple Charity raises One Million Pounds for Africa

A meal to celebrate the success of the charity HUGS (Helping Uganda Schools) in raising ‘One Million Pounds’ was held recently at Stockport Golf Club. This was organised by Trustee, Bob Blundell and attended by supporters of the charity who enjoyed a delicious meal and were brought up to date with the charity’s latest news. Trustee, Joanna Bircher gave a lively and interesting presentation.

Local company goes red and wins charity award in the process

A local structural engineering consultancy has turned itself red in an effort to raise money for charity, and won an award for having the UK’s most unique fund-raising initiative in the process. The staff of Rhodes & Partners wore red clothes and used their Marple Bridge offices to show their support for the recent ‘Wear Red’ day, organized by the Redr UK charity. The charity duly recognized their efforts by naming Rhodes and Partners as winners of this year’s Unique Initiative Award.
