Hayfield Singers’ Christmas Concert

Hayfield Singers are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of the famous American composer, Leonard Bernstein, at their Christmas concert, which will be held at St Matthews Church, Hayfield, on Sunday 9th December at 7.30pm.

The picturesque village of Hayfield is a breeding ground for a diverse range of talent and none more so it seems than singing. Earlier this year, the long-standing amateur choir, the Hayfield Singers, celebrated their 25th anniversary by performing a rendition of Handel’s iconic piece from 1741, The Messiah.

Thornsett Brass Band is very proud of its three most recent graduates. Charlotte Arnfield, Hannah Belfield-Hall and Ella Hardwick-Allan have all been playing with the band since they were around 8 years old. Now, 10 year later, they are all moving on to exciting new futures: Charlotte has a much sought after apprenticeship at a local dental practice, Hannah is studying Engineering in Newcastle and Ella is studying French in Paris.
